SPW Services is owned and managed by Steve Williams. With 26 years of electrical refrigeration specific experience, Steve provides a wealth of knowledge and skills that you can use and apply to any of your contracts.

Initially working in electrical contracting, Steve had an indentured apprenticeship with a large South London based company. He studied at Wandsworth Technical College where he achieved C&G 235 ‘B’ (Approved Electrician) & 235 ‘C’ (Electrical Technician) qualifications.

Steve moved into the specialised area of refrigeration electrical in 1983 when he joined Dudley Bower & Co.  The next eleven years was spent predominantly within M&S carrying out refrigeration installations on new builds and existing store refurbishments - starting as an approved electrician before running contracts and eventually entering the office as a contracts engineer.

Working in an office environment prompted a move in 1994 to Grange Design – a refrigeration orientated design consultancy based in Martlesham (Grange Design became the forerunner to Oaksmere Design). Steve spent two years at Grange as an electrical design engineer providing the electrical design solutions to their consultancy specifications.

Steve moved from Grange Design to R&R Electrical Services in 1996 into a contract engineering/management role. Whilst in this role, Steve gained C&G 2391 (Verification & Testing) and was proficient in using Amtech design software when carrying out design & build projects.

In 2002, Steve changed roles within the company and fronted a new ‘system house’ department as a contracts manager with a small workforce providing a dedicated refrigeration alarm monitoring service to the retail sector covering both RS485 legacy controls and the later TCP/IP based controls.

In 2006, Steve joined ECTech Systems where he continued his keen interest in the retail refrigeration alarm monitoring sector by overseeing the ‘system house’ department as a systems and design manager before the unforeseen closure of the company in late 2009.

This closure has led to the formation of SPW Services which he hopes can offer his experience and knowledge to a wider client base.
